This second-generation tool emits an ultrasonic acoustic pulse, generating and recording the amplitude and arrival times of the reflected signal. It performs a digital acoustic scan of the borehole walls, allowing continuous 360° measurement (3D development) of the borehole diameter, deformations, Identification and orientation of fractures and any connecting sleeves; and analysis of casing walls to assess internal and external corrosion and their thickness (wellbore inspection). This requires the presence of fluid (water or mud) in the borehole.
Orientation in 3D space is ensured by a 3-axis magnetometer and three integrated accelerometers.
The new QL-40-ABI-2G is the second generation of acoustic probes, based on 20 years of experience. This latest version is based on a completely new acoustic sensor and electronics.
Probe dimensions:
• diameter: 40 mm;
• length: 1.61 m;
• weight: 6.7 kg.
