Log for measuring P- and S-wave velocities (in rock).
Energization occurs via a piezoelectric-ceramic transducer (monopole) with multi-frequency wave generation used to record P-, S-, Stoneley-, and Tube-type waves.
It allows for the collection of information on the location, extent, and degree of fracturing, porosity, and cementation quality of well walls, as well as the derivation of rock elastic parameters (Poisson’s ratio and Young’s modulus). If casing is used, perfect adhesion to the borehole is required to prevent sound wave dispersion.
Dimensions:
• diameter 50 mm;
• length 214 cm.
The borehole must be filled with fluid.
