MASW2 Module: SWAN Software

This module guides you through the use of the SWAN software for interpreting MASW and REMI measurements.

 

  • Preprocessing to remove disturbances from the useful signal due to uncontrollable environmental sources.
  • Assembling virtual arrays to overcome the limited number of geophones available in the field.
  • Spectral analysis, using FFT, of the obtained seismogram, conducted by managing the various mathematical parameters made available by the program.
  • Extraction (manual or automatic) of the experimental dispersion curve and display in the frequency or wavelength domain.
  • Generation of the dispersion curve.
  • Inversion of the synthetic model in interactive or automatic mode (inversion based on S-wave velocities and/or layer thicknesses).
  • Determination of the site’s Vs30 value for classification according to technical regulations for seismic design.
  • The module involves the collection of field data near the course location and its interpretation.
