SmartTomo is the NEW software for processing seismic tomographic refraction data.
It is an Italian-made software with direct assistance and support in Italian.
SmartTomo uses an optimized implementation of the method by Moser, T. J. (“Shortest path calculation of seismic rays.” Geophysics 56.1 (1991): 59-67) and optimizes the results through Simultaneous Iterative Reconstruction Techniques.
To be efficient, SmartTomo utilizes the processing power of modern multicore CPUs and minimizes the memory required.
Optimized for new processors
smartTomo is a new project, designed to maximize the use of PCs equipped with multicore/multithreaded processors. This means that tomographic inversions will be processed using all available computer power, saving time.
Advanced visualization
smartTomo implements an effective results viewer. It is not necessary to use external tools to view tomography results. You can change the color palette, set isolines, and display the color gradient. All products can be exported as both a document and an image. SmartTomo includes two color palettes that are colorblind-friendly and printable in black and white.
Signal Noise Reduction
smartTomo implements two signal filtering systems. You can operate manually by analyzing the spectrum and selecting the filters to apply, or you can apply NoRe, a noise reduction tool based on adaptive signal filtering.
NEW VERSION 2025:
New features for picking by dragging the mouse and rejecting inconsistent picks during autopicking procedures.
Two new automatic profile smoothing modes have been added, allowing you to choose whether to give more or less weight to local anisotropies.
Finally, two visual enhancements: axes have been added to all four sides of the profile, and two new palettes are now available, designed to be consistent, printable in black and white, and accessible to colorblind users.
